The Mako jetboard has finally arrived. Mako Boardsports team came over to Spain with Gilo Cardozo (CEO of Mako Boardsports), Kester Haynes and Sam Wedgwood to visit us and present their jetboard in detail. Full video and review in this article.
We had our favorite video team from Jetsurfingnation come join us and we had the fabulous opportunity of riding the board and discovering all of the new great features that the Mako Slingshot has to offer. Mako are bringing out a whole new range of boards so a lot more exciting things to come.

WHAT MAKES THIS BOARD INTERESTING?
THE SHAPE OF THIS JETBOARD IS VERY SPECIAL
Front, nose, tail … this is something we haven’t seen before, mako offers a streamlined jetboard with a longer rail allowing super nice turns. The nose shows a bigger curve than other boards so you can take bigger waves and the jetboard doesn’t stick in so easy.

Just release the cord so you can use it from different heights

By keeping the cord around the wrist, the rider can fall safely as the engine will be immediately shut down.

No need to bring your board at home to charge the battery pack, remove the battery pack and bring it home or charge it in the car while driving to your favorite spot! Also bring spares with you at the beach and ride all day long. No need to open the jetboard to refuel or recharge it!

Mako Bonus: 3L Premix Measuring System Container Specifically Designed
Fill up the petrol into one side, oil in the other side of the gas tank and you mix it. No need for funnels as there is one in it. Just press the button, the fuel is released in the board tank and that’s it. So literally you can just stick it in, upside down, leave it and it stops when it’s full thanks to the integrated valve.
3 BUTTONS POP OFF FLOATABLE LID – SUPER EASY ACCESS TO THE ENGINE
… but you shouldn’t need to open the lid.
Engine bay is segregated from the inside of the board so if you do get water in, you can turn the board on the side and the water roles out
LED LIGHT INDICATOR
When you power up, you put the magnet and press the handle button, it engages the engine, the light flashes and then when the engine is running the light remains lit up for the whole ride. If you have any issue, the light flashes again and you know that you have a low battery for example and you should be coming in, or your ignition system is not working, … little details like that.
EASY TO CARRY WITH DEDICATED HANDLES
Located close to the tail of the slingshot, on both sides of the board, they make it way easier to carry the board down to the water. It helps especially if your arms are not long enough to wrap around the board. As a reminder the board is 596 mm width (23,46 in.).
Handles really make the difference on that board, (not everyone but) you can carry it with one arm! Daniel

THE EYE OF THE RIDER: EXPECTATIONS MET AND EXCEEDED
A lot of great ideas and a board full of surprises. Just at a glance, the things that I like are the long rails, all the pads are good quality and much thicker but my favorite thing is the engine edge cover. To be able to just push those 3 buttons and remove it is great. It has got so many features … The battery, the fact that you can take it out and charge it alone is fantastic. You can adjust the throttle cable cord every time someone uses the board to suit the rider. All these little things you guys have been paying attention to. You’ve obviously been using the board a lot and you know what the riders are looking for. Wayne
