One of our main goals in this testing tour — appart from networking and gathering the community — is to help clarify the market situation and understand what boards are or are not available “right away” — meaning, not for preordering. Are they true, fake or promising jetboards at the prototype/project stage?
For those of you who follow this industry just a bit, Jetsurf does not need much introduction as it’s been dominating the market so far and for good reasons. Let’s face it … as far as we know and have tested, nothing yet comes close to the power and speed produced by these jetboards. However it may be useful to keep in mind that bigger power comes with bigger responsibilities … here is a summary of this 1st day of testing.

STEP ONE : TAME THE BEAST
It may take a bit of time to get used to the board power and coordinate your moves, specifically your “feet” and the sensitive control handle at the same time. “We saw a super human bodybuilder guy James today, taking a Jetsurf lesson and it was not that easy, even for a fit guy like him … compared to electric boards that are so easy to use of course!”. Depending on your experience and fitness level, let’s say it can take from a couple of hours to a whole day to stand-up and ride your board for the first time. If you happen to struggle and have a hard time, keep trying and take into account — that, as you’ll see in one of articles, kids with the right approach, can ride a Jetsurf too.
STEP TWO : PLAY WITH THE BEAST
Once you’re getting more comfortable with your Jetsurf, you can start playing, feel the wind in your hair and “fly like a bird” over the sea .. making sure you’re surfing in a safe and authorised area, paying attention to your gaz level, as well as things and people around you. Remember you can go fast … very fast (top speed about 55 km/h or 34 mph), far … very far (Cruising range about 40 min at full throttle) on a Jetsurf … It may sound silly but you can easily forget about the most obvious things while riding and one thing we missed on this beautiful machine is a gaz indicator or gage to avoid paddling back to the shore!
STEP THREE : CUDDLE THE BEAST
Riding a Jetsurf is a lot of fun but requests a significant degree of maintenance. “The JetSurf should after every ride be washed down with sweet water, as well as the outside as the engine compartment. All the electronics in the engine compartment are completely waterproofed, you only have to avoid putting fresh water into the carburetor. After washing your JetSurf we highly recommend to spray your engine with WD40, especially all the bearings and your carburetor. If you should not use your JetSurf for more than one month if is recommended to spray some WD40 through the carburetor while the engine is running, this will ensure that no rust can built up, in case there is still salt water in the engine block.”

Jetsurf jetboards are real, available, fun and fantastic for carving, powerful, sensitive, and request a high level of maintenance.
TIP:
For any manufacturer, ask for the delay to be expected from order to delivery.
WARNING:
Lots of fakes advertised and sold online, be smart, keep you eyes and ears open! Cheap boards should raise suspicion
